Being Proud of Your Recovery

November 04, 2019

Due to stigma, most people in recovery often do not discuss their recovery in public.  While understandable, because of legitimate fear that the person in recovery may face discrimination for it, not speaking up also keeps people who do not understand in the dark and does do help beat the stigma.  I am proud of people who are brave enough to talk about their recovery in public.  I have experienced it first hand as folks have called in while I have done some live spots on G105.1’s Showgram on some Wednesday mornings in the past.  I think that the lay public needs a greater understanding of the work that we do and how effective it is.
